Antonio 'Tatang' Ilustrisimo
Grandmaster Ilustrisimo was one of the most feared and respected
of Filipino warriors. His system is regarded as highly advanced,
with a focus on bladed techniques, utilizing pre-emptive strikes,
parrying and situational destructions. The Ilustrisimo family system
dates back at least five generations, and was passed on to Masters Tony
Diego, Yuli Romo, Christopher Ricketts, Rey Galang and Edgar Sulite, among
others. |

Epifanio 'Yuli' Romo
Grandmaster Yuli Romo is the second most senior student of Tatang, and is also from a
long line of Filipino Warriors within the Romo clan. Renowned for his creative
interpretations of techniques and strategies, and his disarming expertise, Grandmaster
Yuli is revered and respected by Filipino Martial artists from many systems. As of April
2000 Grand Master Yuli represents the art of Zu'Bu Kali Ilustrisimo. |

Reynaldo S. Galang
Master Rey Galang is co-founder of Bakbakan and Chief Instructor
to the World Headquarters of Bakbakan International. He is the
driving force of the organization and is largely responsible
for the spread of Kali Ilustrisimo throughout the world. Master
Rey is extremely dedicated, setting and maintaining the highest
standards in promoting the Filipino Martial Arts. He is also
author of several bestselling books on the Warrior Arts of the
Philippines and the representative for Bakbakan Kali.

Christopher Ricketts
Master Christopher Ricketts is recognized as co-founder and Chief
Instructor of Bakbakan and represents Kali Ilustrisimo. A well-known
martial artist both in the Philippines, Australia and the United
States Master Topher, as he is called by his peers, is an experienced
tournament (both full-contact and point system) and street fighter.
Known for his strict emphasis on basics and regular contact sparring,
Master Topher has produced many champions, many of whom have become
part of Philippine teams in Asian and international competitions. |

Peter Lewis
Punong Guro Peter Lewis has an extensive martial arts background, spanning over three
decades. Always interested in the practical applications of martial arts, Peter has
undertaken considerable work with law enforcement agencies and victims of assault. Peter
has been involved in Filipino Martial Arts since 1995. He was the first non-Filipino to
receive authorization to teach from Grandmaster Yuli Romo, and is the senior
representative of Master Rey Galang within the UK. |
