Bakbakan Kali Ilustrisimo News 4th November 2006 Fourth International Bakbakan Kali Seminar with Master Rey Galang Master Rey Galang will be conducting a Bakbakan Kali seminar at the Wyre Forest Glades Leisure Centre in Kidderminster. Training will encompass the use of single and double weapons, as well as empty-handed applications. Training times are 11am - 4pm, and the cost of the seminar is £50 per participant. For details contact bakbakan@hotmail.co.uk 5th November 2006 First Gathering of Warriors Tournament hosted by Master Rey Galang The First Gathering of Warriors in the UK is a major milestone event and participants from all forms of Filipino Martial Arts are welcome. Categories include single cane, double cane and knife sparring. The venue for this event is Fernhill Heath War Memorial Hall, Worcester. The Tournament times are 11am - 3pm, and the cost of participation is £10 per category with a maximum participation of three categories. Training is from 7:30pm to 9:00pm on Thursday evening and the venue is Wolverley Memorial Hall, Wolverley, near Kidderminster. For details, e-mail david@bahadzubu.com August 2006 Training at the Bakbakan International WHQ During August 2006, Peter Lewis and David Hand travelled to the Bakbakan International WHQ in New Jersey, USA for very intensive and extensive training under the guidance of Master Rey Galang. Bakbakan International has a worldwide reputation for promoting the highest quality of FMA and many members regularly win tournaments around the globe. To train with these champions and witness the intensity of their efforts is truly inspirational. They tirelessly supported our trip in a totally open and supportive manner, and it is very clear that their dedication and loyalty to Master Rey and Bakbakan Kali is a major influence on their success. Learning advanced forms, strategies, concepts and training methods, Peter and David were greatly inspired by the total lack of egos within the brotherhood of Bakbakan International. The trip culminated in a very well attended and intensive seminar and participation in the Rites of Passage to Full-Fledged Member Status. Seminar participants photograph Bakbakan International WHQ Visit August 2006 Peter Lewis, David Hand and Kevin Jones will be visiting the Bakbakan International WHQ in New Jersey, USA, for extensive and intensive training. Bakbakan Kali Ilustrisimo Testing and Certification 21st May 2006 Master Rey presided over the first UK Bakbakan Kali Ilustrisimo testing and certification event. Bakbakan Kali Ilustrisimo Seminar - Master Rey Galang 20th May 2006 Master Rey Galang conducted a third highly successful seminar on the much-respected Bakbakan Kali Ilustrisimo sytem. Participants learned a wide variety of techniques and applications, including single cane, double cane, knife, and sword and dagger.
