Welcome to the home of Bakbakan in the UK
Due to Peter Lewis and David Hand becoming full-fledged members
of Bakbakan International Bakbakan UK is now an official chapter.
Established in 1995, Worcester Eskrima Club is
the longest-standing and most successful Filipino Martial Arts
organization in Worcestershire. Run by Peter Lewis who has been
practicing the martial arts for over 30 years. Since his involvement
in the filipino martial he is:
- The first ever instructor to introduce Filipino Martial Arts
to Worcestershire
- The most senior and experienced FMA instructor in the region
- The only FMA instructor in Worcestershire to have trained
in the Philippines
- The only instructor in Europe with direct lineage to the
Romo and Ilustrisimo family systems
- The first ever non-Filipino instructor to be authorised by
Grandmaster Epifanio 'Yuli' Romo
- The first ever UK club to become Affiliated with
Bakbakan International

Bakbakan International is a brotherhood of martial artists
from different disciplines of martial arts. It is not a style nor
representative of any single style. It is a center for the sharing
of ideas, techniques and knowledge. |

Bakbakan Kali Ilustrisimo
Bakbakan Kali Ilustrisimo is an expanded version
of the much-revered system of Grandmaster Antonio 'Tatang' Ilustrisimo.
Developed by Master Rey Galang, the system has produced many tournament
champions around the globe. Training in Bakbakan Kali Ilustrisimo includes the use of:
- doble baston - double stick
- solo baston - single stick
- pinuti - a narrow sword suitable for stabbing
and slashing
- tungkod - four-foot staff
- tulisan knife fighting
- hagibis grappling
